It doesn’t ever get that cold in ATL, but the predictions for winter temps this year are alarming. No snow flurries, the lowest of the lows for 2016 will be within the month of January (according to the Weather Channel, my dad’s favorite source of elevator music), and predictions have it that February going into March is already a semi-tropical winter. Your closet’s cold weather looks have a small window, so you better be putting your winter wardrobe on blast while you can. This may be the only time of year you’ll get to do so (maybe for many years to come. GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL, YA’LL!)
WUSSY LookBooks is like that scene in Clueless where Cher picks out her outfit on the computer. WUSSY loves to curate themed events and occasions and the LookBook our version of Cher’s computer. Yes, this is a result of our total inner teen girl, because as an “arts and culture” publication, why not fashion, too? Fashion is an important art form and relic of culture (if you don’t think so maybe you should rethink why it isn’t art and you should also rethink your approach to how you view “femme” in the scale of society).
Our first LookBook for the femmetastic Powder Room dance party is fabulous (hopefully faux) furs, in post-Decay/Decadence. In homage to the fantastical Thierry Mugler and the 90s supermodels of yore (Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington), a slight inspo of 1960s Warhol Factory and the futurism of Barbarella, we bring you a rainbow roundup of wonderous wintry wear.
And if that isn't enough to wet your whistle, check out the current brown fur trend in some of the year's best movies. Who doesn't want to look like a mid-cent. Cate Blanchett or a glammed out wookie goddess?
We know y'all won't disappoint. See you on the dancefloor! ♥♥♥
